It is with sadness that we are announcing the Money Matters program will officially end as of December 2025 due to funding cuts. This program has served over 2000 of the most vulnerable Calgarians for the last 22 years. The program helped participants regain financial stability and learn the skills they needed to thrive in our community—learn more about its impact in our 2023 Money Matters Evaluation brief. A generous grant from Calgary Learns will allow us to close the program with our current participants and community partners with integrity, and ensure that there is a good legacy of the program going into 2026.
We wholeheartedly thank everyone who supported the program. Thank you for the opportunity you provided us to work with and get to know the program's participants over the years.
Momentum will continue to offer our regular Money Management Workshops in six subject areas (Assets, Budgeting, Banking, Credit, Debt Management, and Consumerism) both in-person and virtually. We will also continue to offer five free individual Financial Coaching sessions to Calgarians living on lower incomes and to Indigenous people living on Treaty 7 land.
Thank you again, and we hope to cross paths with supporters and participants of the program in the future.
