Stretch your food budget with Good and Cheap

One of my favourite events of the year is a made-up holiday called Friendsgiving. It’s a potluck celebration of all the gifts the friendship brings to our lives. For four years I’ve been hosting this party on the Friday of the Thanksgiving weekend. The highlight is building a long dinner table out what we have on hand, and sharing a delicious home made meal. Seating 20 people, it stretches right across my small house.
But as important as it is to nurture our social assets and gather around food, even potluck dinner parties can impact our food budget. That’s why I want you to know about “Good and Cheap”, a cookbook available as a free PDF, written by Leanne Brown.
Leanne, who lives in the US, created this cookbook based on a food budget of $4/day per person. Whether your own budget is higher or lower than this number, I hope it offers you some some new, delicious ideas to help stretch your grocery dollars to the end of the month.
Be sure to let me know how they turn out for you.
Happy Cooking!
