StartWork Trades Training Welding

In this free training program, you will have the opportunity to upgrade your skills, get access to real on-site experience, and receive hands-on training with our industry partners.

StartWork provides employment training and work experience for participants currently receiving Alberta Income Support. Through StartWork training you will begin building a career and sustainable livelihood in Calgary and area.

A welder's primary job is to fuse metal pieces together using heat and pressure, creating strong durable bonds. They use various welding techniques, tools and equipment to join or repair metal structures and components in diverse industries like construction, manufacturing, and oil and gas.

To start in this trade, you may find work as a Skilled Labourer, Welding Labourer or Helper, or a Junior Welder/Installer/Fabricator.
