Living Wage Snapshot

Did you know that a living wage is not solely based on hourly pay? Sick days, vacation time, and other non-wage benefits provided to employees also factor into the calculation.

The Living Wage Snapshot is a confidential, one-on-one consultation designed to help Calgary employers better understand how their current compensation practices compare to the living wage. Prior to the meeting, participating businesses will complete a wage and compensation questionnaire, providing information about employee wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation. Our team will review the information and prepare a personalized snapshot.

During a one-hour consultation, we will:

• Present a calculation of total compensation based on questionnaire responses and discuss how it compares to the living wage.
• Identify areas where your organization is already performing well.
• Explore opportunities and practical strategies to close any gaps over time.
• Discuss questions, challenges, and considerations unique to your business.
• Connect you to relevant tools, resources, and organizations that can support your next steps, including the Alberta Living Wage Network where appropriate.
