Owen Hart Home Owners Program
Do you want to be a homeowner? The Owen Hart Home Owners Program is a free program that offers people living in low-income situations the opportunity to save for a down payment for a home. It also helps develop increased money management skills with an emphasis on homeownership issues.
How does it work?
Participants will attend regular workshops, peer group meetings, and one-on-one consultation sessions to better understand their needs as a homeowner and how to select their perfect home. During this time, participants will deposit between $100 – $250 per month for one year, saving $3,000. After one year, savings are matched at a 2:1 ratio ($2 for every $1 saved) for a combined total of $9,000, which they can put towards the down payment of a new home.
Who is eligible?
You are eligible for the program if you live on a low income and have successfully completed a Matched Savings Program for Adults or Youths in Calgary, either at Momentum or one of our Aspire Community Partner Agencies.
