Momentum celebrates Great Place to Work® certification
The results are in! It’s official; we’ve been certified as great, or rather a great place to work. This didn’t come as a surprise to me because I’m aware of the amazing people and culture that make Momentum such an incredible place to work. To have it confirmed with an actual certification is just icing on the cake.
What is a Great Place to Work® certification? It involves a thorough, independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work Institute® Canada –a global authority on workplace culture. It’s based on direct feedback from our staff, provided as part of an extensive and anonymous survey about their experience in the workplace. Essentially, it’s the voices of those who work here telling the world that they trust their coworkers and they’re proud to work for Momentum.
The survey identified certain elements that contribute to our staff engagement. We do incredible work that serves the community and that’s something our team is proud of. Beyond that, we are inclusive with hiring and offer competitive compensation, flexibility, and work-life balance. And, we’re always striving to be better.
Nancy Fonseca, Senior Vice President of Great Place to Work® Canada, says that a great workplace is about the level of trust that employees experience in their leaders, the level of pride they have in their jobs, and the extent to which they enjoy their colleagues. Knowing that we were able to achieve this recognition fills me with pride.
We are excited for the certification, but we also know from the Great Place to Work® survey results that there are specific specific opportunities to improve staff engagement and experience. We’ll keep working to be a place where our staff members feel pride, empowered and that they’re part of an effective, psychologically safe team.
