Free & Frugal Family Fun in Calgary

As of June 20th, summer is officially here. The sun is shining, birds are chirping, and soon, cowboy attire will be worn all over the city. The best part about summer is that there are fun & exciting things happening – all the time!
Although attending the Stampede can get pricey, you don’t need to break the bank in order to get out for family fun. In fact, there are many activities, events, and attractions that you can access for free, right in our beautiful city.
The two fabulous lists below contain over 60 activities between the two of them and they will not cost you a penny to attend:
1. Raising Calgary’s Ultimate List of Free Summer Activities highlights festivals, pancake breakfasts, crafts, summer camps, bowling, floating lanterns, drive-in movies and a bull dog race!
2. To Do Canada’s list features bike trails, fishing spots, nature expeditions, museums and wetlands.
And, if you have a small budget, Family Fun Canada has compiled a list of cheap things to do around Calgary including Saturday morning movies, crochet lessons, youth passport for recreation, and garage sales on parade!
What are your favourite free & frugal things to do around YYC?
