Free Money. For your kids. Yes, really!

Usually when we hear the word “free,” there is some sort of a catch. I know I’ve always been told that if something is too good to be true, then it is.
Dear friends, we have found an exception! If you are a parent or have kids in your life, what would be a better way to celebrate back to school than to enroll them to get free government money for their future education? Up to $2,500 for free, in fact.
If you have a child born in 2004 or later and you receive the National Child Benefit Supplement, your child can get the Canada Learning Bond, a federal contribution of up to $2,000 into a child’s Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP). If your child was born in 2005 or later and you live in Alberta, they can get an extra $500 through the Alberta Centennial Education Savings Grant. That totals up to $2,500, without contributing a penny of your own!
And, kids are six times more likely to go to school if they have cash savings in their name.
The government doesn’t give away free money very often, so what are you waiting for?
Come to our next “Free Money Party” at Fish Creek Library on September 20th and enroll your child to get free money by opening an RESP. Banks will be onsite for you to open your child’s RESP and apply for government money. The event is family friendly and includes snacks, children’s activities and prizes! Space is limited so register today!
