Volunteer Opportunity
Momentum is launching a new workshop to help families learn about saving for their children's education. Would you like to work with newcomers and low income parents? Then you will love this volunteer position! You will be assisting the facilitator in a variety of tasks.
Description of Duties:
Could be any or all of the following:
- Assist classroom facilitator to welcome participants to class and help participants fill out forms (Workshops are two hours in length, and run week days and week day evenings).
- Telephone participants to remind them of workshops*
- Telephone participants after workshop*
* Telephone work could be done from home if preferred, in which case access to email is required.
- Meet participants at the bank to assist them in opening an RESP (access to your own transportation or vehicle will be required for this task).
Skills/Qualifications Required:
Basic Computer skills (Windows environment) would be an asset.
Fluency in a language other than English would be an asset.
A love of working with people is essential.
Length of Term:
Minimum of 6 Months
Specific Time of Day Required:
Hours of work are very flexible. Some shifts are weekdays: mornings and/or afternoons; Some are weekday evenings.
Time Commitment:
Shifts are 2-3 hours, once or twice a week or month.
